The Permian Basin Chapter, the only NFBTX chapter in West Texas, strives to educate blind people and the community that blindness does not define one’s life. The enthusiastic group, made up of members in their 30s to those in their 90s, come together to support one another and to solve issues face by the blind. Members distribute NFB information to blindness agencies, local doctor’s offices, hospitals and at health fairs. The chapter helps members obtain blindness services and teaches them, through a positive NFB philosophy, that they can still live the life they want.
Chapter meetings are held on the last Monday of each month, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., in the parlor of St Stephens Catholic Church in Midland. For those who cannot attend the meeting on the last Monday, the chapter also holds a meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. Please, contact our chapter president for additional information regarding meeting dates and times. Transportation is available. Guest speakers and demonstrations about blindness-related topics are featured frequently.
