The San Antonio Chapter is made up of hardworking Federationists volunteering their time to spread the NFB philosophy throughout the community. Members participate in local health fairs, during diversity presentations at schools and distribute NFB literature to doctor’s offices. The chapter hosts a picnic for wounded warriors and their families and collaborates with other blindness organizations to conduct White Cane Safety Day activities. The San Antonio Chapter educates blind children and adults through its NFB BELL Program and by offering braille tutoring from more advanced members.
Meetings are held at the San Antonio field office for the Texas Workforce Commission's Vocational Rehabilitation Services, 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m., the second Saturday of each month. Members and guests are invited to come early to socialize and enjoy refreshments. Guest speakers and presentations about various blindness issues are featured frequently.
