San Antonio Chapter

About our chapter: “Military City” is growing rapidly, which is why the members of the National
Federation of the Blind San Antonio chapter work hard to spread our philosophy and raise
expectations for those with vision loss. Our members participate regularly at local town hall
meetings to improve public transportation and pedestrian accessibility within our city. We are
coordinating with the San Antonio government and 311 SA to make city and county apps and
services user friendly for persons using screen readers. The chapter has also shared its mission at
local vision fares and accessibility events such as White Cane Safety Day. Members have held
blood drives to help San Antonians in need. Through this advocacy we will continue to build the
National Federation of the Blind by being active in the community.

Come early to our meetings to socialize, as guest speakers are frequently featured. It is 2020 and
we have many new exciting things in the works, such as technology tutoring presentations and
adaptive techniques for our members, at all skill levels.

Meeting Location: BiblioTech East, 1203 North Walters Street
Time: 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM on the third Saturday of each month
