The National Federation of the Blind of Texas and the Texas Association of Blind Students is planning our annual Student Summit for April 3-5, in Houston. The theme of the conference is Engineer Your Future, and the planning team is working on the development of three different tracks in order to make sure we have content pertinent to every student group. One track will serve high school students who will be preparing for college soon. Another will offer undergraduate students information to help them overcome the hurdles often faced by college students, and the third track will help students master what they need to know to succeed when their career choice includes the need for graduate-level study.
The DoubleTree at Houston Hobby Aiport will serve as the headquarters for this one of a kind summit. Room rates are $95.00 per night, plus applicable taxes. Registration will cost just $60.00 per student. The summit will be sponsored by NFB-NEWSLINE(R) Texas.
The organization will provide some meals for everyone who registers. That will include dinner on Friday evening, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday morning. Dinner on Saturday evening will be on your own.
