State Convention
Each year, members of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas come together for a weekend packed with speakers, hands-on workshops, technology demonstrations, networking, love and support. The convention—our organization’s ultimate governing authority—sets the legislative priorities that we’ll pursue together; is where you can meet independent, blind professionals from across the state; and introduces people to a proven philosophy that says blindness does not have to be the characteristic that defines you or your future.
The 2025 convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas is set to take place on the weekend of October 31 through November 2, 2025. The headquarters for this year's convention is the DoubleTree by Hilton at Houston Hobby Airport. As you may recall, we have visited this hotel several times in the last decade. The staff always provides friendly service and is easy to work with.
Room rates for the convention are $105 a night, plus tax. The total cost, including tax, is 122.85 each night. If you pre-register for the convention the fee is $30 per person. If you choose to purchase a banquet ticket, the pre-convention rate for that ticket is $55. You will be able to register and purchase banquet tickets onsite; however, the cost for registration will rise to $35, and a banquet ticket purchase at the convention will cost $60.
