ALVIN, TX - The National Federation of the Blind of Texas is currently accepting applications for its 2018 scholarship program. To qualify for consideration applicants must be legally blind residents of Texas. They must also be planning to participate in a full-time course of study at a college or university in the fall of 2018.
Lara Sowell, of Nacogdoches, will chair this year's committee, and she will be assisted by committee members Kimberly Aguillard (Houston), Yolanda Harris (Pilot Point), Jose Marquez (Houston), Daniel Martinez (Brownsville), and Harry Staley (San Antonio). The committee will accept applications from now through August 15, 2018.
We prefer electronic submissions; however, if you cannot submit your application using the online form, feel free to contact us to request a printed copy. You can make this request by contacting our office at 281-968-7733. Someone is normally available to take your call during the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. If we are not available, please leave a message.
The online application will provide you with all the information you need regarding program requirements and submission rules. Please, read the instructions carefully and follow them exactly. Incomplete applications will not be considered. So, please work with the committee to ensure that you submit everything that is required.
