From NFBTX President Norma Crosby:
Blind Texans have lost a true friend and champion today. Larry Temple, executive director of the Texas Workforce Commission, died this morning.
Larry never met a blind person he didn't love. He understood our philosophy of blindness, and he wanted each of us to have the opportunity to live the lives we want to live.
I saw him just a few weeks ago, and he was optimistic about his odds of getting a new heart. He told Glenn and me that he wanted to be at our convention in Las Vegas, and he wanted everyone to know how much he missed seeing us at our convention in Fort Worth.
I am proud that I was able to call him a friend. He was both a great and a good man. That is a rare combination.
RIP, LT. NFBTX loves you.
